What use to be an old fisherman’s village, is now a very popular destination in Europe to spend holidays. Albufeira is the leading village of the Algarve, where the summer begins in April and last until November.
Portugal has one of the most magnificent coastlines in Europe with popular or deserted sandy beaches surrounded by beautiful rock formation, or white dunes. You can do a boat trip with dolphins, jeep safari, city trips to Lisbon, Seville and many other excursions.
Albufeira has wonderfull restaurants with great seafood 'catch of the day', represented by traditional dishes like “cataplana” and great meat, the famous “chicken piri piri”. The restaurants are open during the entire summer.
From April until June and from September until November is a perfect place to enjoy a more quiet atmosphere. Everything is open all the excursions are possible to do and it is 95% of the time perfect weather for the beach or other outdoor activities.
During july and august it is high season, Albufeira is known in these months for it's best nightlife of the Algarve and one of the best in Europe.
Offcourse the nightlife is not everything Albufeira has to offer in these 2 months. The weather is perfect, great hospitality and entertainment organized by the city hall.
